Countdown Cadets
Privacy policy

Your family's privacy, in plain words.

Last updated: October 2026.

This policy is a draft and will be reviewed by a lawyer before the app launches. If anything here changes, this page will say what changed and when.

Who we are

Countdown Cadets is a project of KEPTLY LLC, a Florida limited liability company. You can reach us at hello@countdowncadets.com or by mail at KEPTLY LLC, c/o Registered Agents Inc, 7901 4th St N, Ste 300, St. Petersburg, FL 33702.

The short version

  • We never ask a child for personal information.
  • The app has no accounts and no ads, and it contains no analytics or advertising tools.
  • Your kids' progress stays on your device.
  • On this website, the one thing we ask for is a grown-up's email address, if you choose to sign up.

This website

Email signup

If you sign up for the Launch Night watch sheet, we collect the email address you type. We use it to send the watch sheet and Countdown Cadets news, such as when the app is ready. Our website passes the address to our email service, systeme.io, which stores it and sends these emails for us. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

We test two versions of our headline. We count how many signups come from each version, as plain numbers. Which version you saw is not stored with your email.

The ZIP check

The ZIP code check runs entirely in your browser. Your ZIP code is not sent to us or anyone else, and it is not saved.

Next launch box

To show the next launch, your browser asks Launch Library 2 (by The Space Devs) for the launch schedule. Like any website you visit, their server sees your browser's IP address. We don't send them anything about you.

Visitor statistics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits. Cloudflare says it does not use cookies or fingerprinting and does not build visitor profiles. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps short technical logs to keep the site running and secure.

What your browser keeps

The site saves two small notes in your own browser: which headline version you saw, and the launch schedule until you close the tab, so the page doesn't ask for it again. Neither is personal, and you can clear them by clearing your browser data.

There are no advertising cookies, no social media pixels and no embedded videos from other sites.

The app

What a grown-up enters

During setup, a grown-up enters each child's first name or nickname and age range, the family's ZIP code, and a 4-digit parent passcode. The passcode is stored only in a scrambled form (a hash).

Where it is kept

On your device. That includes the nicknames, missions finished, quiz results, patches, Cosmic Credits, cadet characters and settings. We don't receive a copy. If your phone backs up app data to iCloud or Google, that backup can include it. Deleting the app deletes this information from the device.

What the app asks other servers for

The app downloads the launch schedule from Launch Library 2. Their server sees your device's IP address, as with any internet request. The ZIP code is looked up inside the app with a built-in table and is not sent anywhere. When you print a worksheet or certificate, the app loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which sees your device's IP address. Your child's name is not sent. If a grown-up opens Watch live, the launch company's stream opens outside the app, on their own website.

Launch alerts

If you turn on launch alerts in the Parents area, the app schedules reminders on your device. They never include your child's name.

Printables

Worksheets and certificates are made on your device when you choose to print or save them. A certificate shows your child's name or nickname, the chapter, its missions and the date.

No ads, no analytics, no data sales

The app shows no ads and contains no analytics or advertising tools. We don't sell information about you or your children or use it for advertising.

Children's privacy

Countdown Cadets is made for kids 7 to 10, and a grown-up sets it up. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. Kids are never asked for their name, email, photo or location. If you think a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from emails with the link in any email.
  • Ask us to delete your email address by writing to hello@countdowncadets.com.
  • Delete the app to delete everything it stored on your device.

Changes

If we change this policy, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how we handle information about children, we will say so clearly before it takes effect.
